A new city-wide food scraps recycling program, Green Bin Approved, is launching in early 2022 in response to state legislation (SB 1383) that will significantly reduce food waste and methane emissions from landfills. The food scraps will be composted and then used in our local parks, gardens, and farms.

The city is interested in hearing from our community. This is a significant change (required by the State), and we want to deliver the new Green Bin Approved program in a way that makes it as easy as possible for our residents and businesses.
