Bring the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary to you! In-class education and outreach programs are available for a variety of grade levels and venues. Docent presentations invite you to actively explore the amazing world of animals!
Program Options
- Educational presentation with a focus on the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary’s Mission Statement: Teaching Responsible Behavior Toward All Animals. The 30 to 45 minute program begins with a PowerPoint presentation.
- Learn about our animals, why they came to live at the zoo sanctuary, their natural habitats and adaptions, and how we can all help "keep wild animals wild."
- Hands-on experience with various biofacts (fur, feathers, skulls, etc.)
- Customize your program: you may request a specific topic such as habitat, diet, adaptations, etc.
Fees
- There is no fee required for this program; the volunteer docents offer this program at no cost to help bring awareness to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, its animals, and its mission.
Important Information
- Presentations should be reserved a minimum of 30 days in advance.
- Maximum class size is 35 for K+ (25 for Pre-K).
- Presentations are also suitable for daycare, senior centers, libraries, and churches.
- We are able to conduct multiple presentations on a single day (“back-to-back” sessions).
- We have a 45-minute each way driving limit.
