The Folsom Teen Council is a dedicated group of Folsom high school students who want to make the world a better place. The students volunteer with a variety of events and programs, including:

• City special events
• School district and PTA events at local elementary schools
• Mayor's Cup Golf Tournament
• Folsom Renaissance Faire
• Folsom Veterans Day Parade
• Tree Decorating for Holiday Lights at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary
• Shopping with the STARZ
• Hosting the Pancake Breakfast for the Folsom Senior Center
• Festival of Eggs

The CAVE Teen Centers are located on the Folsom and Sutter Middle School campuses. Preregistration is required to attend.

The CAVE program provides a safe, structured, and positive environment for middle school students in 6th through 8th grades who need supervised after-school care.

Registration Information

Monthly fees for the 2024-25 school year:

• $100/month from August through May.
• The fee is averaged since some months have more days than others.
• Scholarship opportunities are available through the PLAYRS program.
• Spaces are limited and waitlists will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

New ePACT paperless registration system:

• The CAVE program does not allow drop-in attendance; pre-registration is required.
• After you register, you will receive an email from ePACT, a secure, HIPAA compliant, cloud-based health and emergency platform that will house the necessary forms to complete your child’s registration.
• CAVE registration is currently open; ePACT documents will be emailed starting July 29.
• The enrollment fee covers the $100 tuition for the first month (monthly fee is averaged, as some months have more days than others).
• Once you are enrolled, auto-billing will occur on the 25th of every month through April.

Activities and Resources

 Recreation Leaders engage the teens in activities including:

• Pool, ping-pong, and video games
• Organized group games and contests
• Arts and crafts
• Movies
• Outdoor games and sports

The CAVE also provides a quiet room for students who want to work on their homework.

Locations and Hours

• The CAVE at Folsom Middle School (Blue Ravine Campus) is located in Room 122, a triple-wide portable behind the two-story building.
• The CAVE at Sutter Middle School (Riley Street Campus), Room S-3 on the Persifer Street side of campus.
• Both CAVE sites are open Monday through Thursday from class dismissal until 6 p.m., and Friday from class dismissal until 5:30 p.m. The schedule includes all early dismissal days.
