The Folsom City Council adopted a new City of Folsom flag on November 13, 2018.

The purpose of the flag:

• Represent Folsom’s history and community.
• Encourage civic pride.
• Promote unity and a sense of place.
• Provide a recognizable symbol for the City of Folsom.

The flag was designed by two Vista del Lago High School students Siena Hansen and Sierra Stewart.

City of Folsom Flag Symbolism

• Gold Stripes: The City of Folsom has a rich history beginning with the forty-niners during California's great Gold Rush. The gold stripe represents the Gold Rush, as well as today’s thriving, high-tech, and innovative city. The line meets in the middle, overlaps, and does not run in one fluid stripe, which represents the convergence of the city’s past and present and positions Folsom as a central hub.
• Black: The black triangles honor the “Man in Black” Johnny Cash for his influence on Folsom.
• Blue: The blue represents Folsom’s waters— including Folsom Lake, Lake Natoma, and the American River— as well as Folsom Dam.
